I found this broken chair inside an alley and broke down its parts
The process
The vessel takes on a form of
staggered elevation, which can also
be interpreted as a low-lying pyramid
shape. It possesses two distinct forms:
one protruding and the other flat.
These forms are manipulated through
the use of ropes, allowing control over
the vessel's shape.
When in its protruding state,
the vessel reveals three layers
of squares, each varying in size.
The smallest square sits at the
top, symbolizing the infant stage
of life. This layer represents our
capacity to accept and deal with
various situations we encounter.
In infancy, our level of patience
and acceptance tends to be
relatively low. However, as we
age and mature, our capacity
for acceptance and our level of
patience increase progressively
This structural design not
only serves an aesthetic
purpose but also carries
a deeper, metaphorical
meaning. The transformation
between the two forms
of the vessel mirrors the
journey of human growth
and development. The ropes
that control the shape of the
vessel symbolize the external
influences and personal
choices that shape our life’s
journey
