This pavilion, built in response to climate damage affecting coral reefs, serves as both a gathering space and a reminder of the need for environmental conservation. It highlights the impact of climate change and inspires action to protect and restore fragile ecosystems, with a design committed to sustainability.
The process mirrors coral decline, where the structure chips away as the infection spreads. As animals dependent on the coral die, the model splits apart, eventually becoming bleached and lifeless. The final, sharper, fragmented form symbolizes the full impact of environmental degradation.
The pavilion’s six halls show coral decline, from healthy reefs to bleached, lifeless forms, raising awareness of environmental damage and inspiring action to protect fragile ecosystems.
